2020 Annual Meeting for Wells Township

The annual meeting of Wells Township was held on Tuesday March 10, 2020 at the Wells Town Hall

The meeting was opened by James Zahn with the pledge of Allegiance at 1:00 P.M.

Those in attendance were Daniel LaCanne, Don Langer, Kevin Brazil  and Chuck Schema.

Board Members:  Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Colin Johnson and James Zahn

Don Langer was appointed moderator for the meeting. Motion by Daniel LaCanne and seconded by Jeff LaCanne. The motion carried.

The minutes of the March 2019 annual meeting were read. Motion to approve by Jeff LaCanne and seconded by Rich Cap. The Motion carried.

The financial report for 2019 was read:

Roads                                                    $ 284,527.00

General Expense                                $32,003.00

Fire                                                           $32831.00

Total                                                       $349,361.00

The proposed budget for the year 2021 is:

Roads                                    $ 195,000.00

Gen. Exp.                            $32,000.00

Fire                                        $33,000.00

Total Budget                      $260,000.00

Don Langer  moved to accept the budget. Kevin Brazil seconded the motion and it carried.

 

It was announced that the Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting will be held at the town hall on April 15th at 9:00 A.M.

Jeff LaCanne moved that the township spend $10,000.00 on dust control in 2020. Don Langer seconded the motion and it carried.

Time and location for the annual meeting was discussed.  It was decided to keep the meeting at the 1 P.M. at the town hall, followed by elections with the polls open from 2:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Don Langer moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
