Wells Township Board April 7, 2014 Minutes

On Monday, April 7, 2014, the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Board members present:   Jeff LaCanne, Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and James Zahn

Also present were Dave Bates, Lowell Berg, Flavia Berg, Jon Hansen, Larry Churchill, Don Cook, Jim Gare, John Purdie, Kevin Teich, Colin Johnson, John Witte and Bill Holmblad

Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the March 3, 2014 meeting were read by James Zahn. Jeff LaCanne moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Rich Cap. Motion carried

Treasurer’s report was given by Marlene Pohl.

The Township Has a C.D. maturing on April 8,2014 foe $37,436.37. It was decided to renew the C.D. for 9 months with the same lending institution.

Motion to approve  by  Rich Cap,  second by Nancy Johnson, Motion Carried

Nancy Johnson moved that Jeff LaCanne remain the Board Chair for the next year. The motion was seconded by Rich Cap and carried.

Concern for the depth of the ditch on Wells Lake Court was reviewd again. Nancy Johnson moved that the Township have the ditch surveyed to determine its actual depth. Rich Cap seconded and the motion carried.

The Don Krenske request for a driveway was reviewed. It was decided that until Mr. Krenske formally comes to the board no action will be taken.

The abandonment of Becker Avenue was put on hold until the board reviewed its options.

A road check meeting was set up for 4:45 P.M. on Friday April 11, 2014.

Century Link requested a permit to bury cable along 195th St and Douglas Ave. The request will be reviewed during  the road check meeting and Century Link will be advised where the Township wants them to bury the cable.

Greater Minnesota gas  wants to run a gas line along Kelly Lake Trail. Nancy Johnson moved that we request that we be supplied with a drawing of their requested location.  Jeff LaCanne seconded and the motion carried.

Dave Bates requested a 2” layer of crushed rock be added to Elgin Court.

Liquor License’s for Winjum’s, Hoy’s and Roberds Lake Resort were reviewd and approved.

All bills were approved and paid.
