Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes April 13,2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the meeting was held virtually on Zoom.

Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.

Also present were Jon Winjum, Tim Madigan, Ron Velzke, Bill LaPorte and Bill Arendt .

March minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Colin Johnson moved to approve the minutes. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed with all three supervisors voting in favor.

Flavia Berg  read the Treasurer’s report for March 2020. Colin Johnson moved to accept the report as printed, Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it passed with all three supervisors voting in favor..

The bills for the month were reviewed. Jeff LaCanne moved to approve the bills for payment. Rich Cap seconded and the Motion passed with all three supervisors voting in favor.

Old Business:

Issues with the siren at Ung’s resort were reviewed.  Our attorney needs a survey to draw up an easement agreement with Ung’s for the siren. It was decided to see about moving the siren to the top of the hill to the edge of the road right of way.

The resolution for paving Elmore Ave., Elmore Trail, Elmore Path and 175th St. was discussed. Colin Johnson moved to table the resolution until we are closer to paving and financing is determined. Rich Cap seconded the motion and all three supervisors voted in favor.

 

New Business:

Liquor License for Winjum’s, Ung’s and Roberds Lake resort  were reviewed. Jeff LaCanne moved to approve for 2020. Rich Cap seconded the motion and all three supervisors voted in favor.

A resolution approving Jaguar Communications was reviewed and Colin Johnson moved we adopt the resolution. Rich Cap seconded the motion and all three supervisors voted in favor.

A driveway permit was approved for Jon Winjum.

The maintaining of Garfield Ave. which is a boundary road with Shieldsville was discussed. Colin Johnson moved that we have Shieldsville maintain the road for us in 2020. Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and all three supervisors voted in favor. Shieldsville will bill for the maintenance.

A road survey was discussed. Due to the pandemic each supervisor will drive the roads and make notes to cover at the next meeting.

Due to the time it was decided to postpone reorganization until May.

Rich Cap moved to adjourn and Colin Johnson seconded the motion. The motion passed with all three supervisors voting in favor.
