Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes April 11, 2022
Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.
Also present were Lowell Berg, Dennis Tuma, Ed DeGrood, Justin Klante, Joel Pietig, Mark Prieve and Jon Winjum.
March minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Colin Johnson moved to approve the minutes. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for March. Rich Cap moved to accept the report and Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
The bills for the month were reviewed. Colin Johnson moved to approve the bills for payment. Rich Cap seconded the Motion and it passed.
Issues from the Floor:
Dennis Tuma is concerned about the dust along Canby Avenue and wants the township to apply dust control. He was informed that the township is not doing dust control and residents would have to find a vendor and pay for it. He was provided with information on a couple of companies that provide that service.
Mark Preve is concerned about the ditch and water issues along Chippuis Trail. The board advised him that would be corrected before the road was paved.
New Business:
Liquor License applications for Winjum’s Resort, Grandmas and Roberds Lake Resort were reviewed. Rich Cap moved to approve the applications and Colin Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Jeff LaCanne made a motion to pass resolution 2022-5 for driveway ordinance 2022-1. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
Colin Johnson moved we adopt resolution 2022-6 modifying the existing road policy to include the driveway ordinance. Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it passed.
The board did a reorganization of positions and rates for the year going forward. The attached page was approved in a motion by Colin Johnson and approved by Jeff LaCanne.
Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
