Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes January 10, 2022

Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Brandon Miller and James Zahn.

Also present was Peter Lindahl, John Jasinski and Brian Hake.

December minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Colin Johnson moved to approve the minutes. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed

Brandon Miller read the Treasurer’s report for December. Rich Cap moved to accept the report and Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.

The bills for the month were reviewed. Colin Johnson moved to approve the bills for payment. Jeff LaCanne seconded the Motion and it passed.

New Business:

John Jasinski explained his plan to replat the Kinniple property and the need to vacate Park Avenue, Forest Avenue and Woodland drive. After review Jeff Lacane moved to adopt resolution 2022-1 vacating these roads. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.

Jeff LaCanne reviewed the township fire association meeting with the city. The contract between the city and the association has expired and the next step is to renegotiate. The City has advised they expect the association by the fire department another truck.

The hearing was held on forming the Chappuis Trail Subordinate Service District. Brian Hake was not opposed to forming the SSD, but was concerned that there was a major drainage issue on the Chad Wolf property across the street from the Dennis Sammon property. He is concerned that unless the drainage problem is fixed the blacktop won’t hold up. He was assured that the issue will be reviewed in the spring before any blacktopping is done.

Jeff LaCanne moved we adopt resolution 2022-2 establishing a Chappuis Trail Subordinate Service District. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

 

Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
