Wells Township Board Minutes

December 1, 2014

 

On Monday December 1, 2014 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Board Members Present: Jeff LaCanne, Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and James Zahn, No other residents of the Township were present.

Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of /allegiance.

The minutes of the November 3, 2014 were read by Jim Zahn. Jeff LaCanne moved to accept minutes and Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The November Treasurers report was given by Marlene Pohl. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the Treasurers report and Rich Cap seconded the motion.
The November bills were reviewed and approved for payment.

Jim Zahn reported that the November elections went smoothly. The township had 1027 registered voters and registered 36 more on Election Day. There were 646 votes cast or 60.8% of the registered voters.

Jim Zahn reported that Township Elections will be held on March 10, 2015 for the position of supervisor (one 3 year term) and Treasurer (2 year term). Anyone wishing to file for these offices may do so at the clerk’s home between December 25, 2014 and January 13, 2015.

Jim Zahn reported that Rice County had received the required proof of training for the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization for 2015. Jim Zahn was asked to get training dates so the Supervisors could update their training

Jim Zahn reported that the Township Web Site has been developed and people can access the web site at wellstownship.org. The web site was reviewed and Jim is open to suggestions for changes that would improve the site.

Development of a Road Policy was reviewed and a special meeting was set up develop the policy. The meeting was set for December 10, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at the clerk’s home.

Building Permits for October and November were reviewed.

Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.
