Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes February 1, 2016

 

On Monday February 1, 2016 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Members present were  Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and Jim Zahn.

Also present was Randy Kubish and Tarell Friedley.

Vice Chairman Rich Cap opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance.

The minutes of the January 4, 2016 meeting were read by Jim Zahn.  Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Marlene Pohl gave the Treasurers report. Expenses in January were $3,908.29. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the Treasurers report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.The January Bills were reviewed for payment. Nancy Johnson moved we pay the January bills. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the motion carried.

There were no building permits for January.

Old Business:

Randy Kubish and Tarell Friedly Pexa’s attorney discussed the easement they proposed  for parcel D of the Pexaco property. Nancy Johnson reviewed the township attorney’s concerns with their proposal. After much discussion it was decided we would have the two attorney’s talk to each other and Nancy would participate if necessary to resolve the issue.

Nancy Johnson reported that she and Jeff had not picked up the tables and chairs. The pricing and discount was still the same at Menards and they planned to pick them up in a week.

Marlene Pohl reviewed the rural fire contract and the meeting held by the Rural Fire Association. The split between the four townships is as follows:

Cannon City- 25%  , Walcott- 26%, Warsaw- 16% , Wells- 33%

Wells share of the rural fire contract is $30,195 for 2016

 

New Business:

Strobel Tree service has begun doing brush and tree removal from some of the township’s ditches.

Resolution #2016-1 to participate in the Minnesota Association of Townships workers Compensation Insurance Trust was presented to the board. The Trust requires a resolution and couldn’t find one on record. After discussion Rich Cap moved to pass the resolution. Nancy Johnson seconded themotion and it carried.

Nancy Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting and Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.
