Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes July 5, 2016

 

On Monday July, 2016 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Nancy Johnson,  Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and Jim Zahn.

Also present were  Flavia Berg, Lowell Berg, John Brown, Annette Brown, Dave Sammon, Frank Rauschnot, Ron Velzke, Justin Oakland, Larry Churchill, and Steve Anderson.

Chairman Rich Cap opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance.

The minutes of the June 6, 2016 meeting were read by Jim Zahn.  Rich Cap moved to accept the minutes and Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Marlene Pohl gave the Treasurers report. Current checking balance is $191,488.48 three C.D.’s at the State Bank, three C.D.’s at 1st United total $333,514.74 for a total balance of $525,003.22. Current month deposits of $67,446.70. Expenses for the month were $40,668.45. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the Treasurers report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

The  Bills were reviewed for payment. Jeff LaCanne moved we pay the bills. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Old Business:

Rich Cap had the quotes for Chappuis Trail. The quote to patch the road was $11,300 and the quote to overlay the whole road was $92,300. After discussion Rich Cap moved that the township spend $11,300 dollars to repair Chappuis trail. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.

French Lake Trail was then discussed and Rich Cap moved the township spend $12,000 on repairs to French Lake Trail. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.

Next Elmore Trail and Elmore Avenue were discussed. Nancy Johnson moved that the township spend $12,875 for repairs. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

Larry Churchill asked about the sign with web site information for the township and Roberds lake club. Nancy Johnson moved the township pay $200.00 or half the cost of the sign. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried. The Roberds lake club will erect the sign.

John Brown brought up a concern about drainage along Fairbanks Avenue. Rich Cap moved we clean the ditch and investigate the installation of a 15” culvert in the road. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.

Nancy Johnson  moved to adjourn the meeting and Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it carried.
