Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes March 2, 2015

 

On Monday March 2, 2015 The Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Members present were: Jeff LaCanne, Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and James Zahn.

Also present were John Purdie and Gary Lazar.

Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and then asked if anyone was recording the meeting. He received no response.

The Minutes of the February 2, 2015 meeting and the February Special Meeting were read by Jim Zahn. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Marlene Pohl gave the Treasurers report. Current Checking Account $161,942.78. Rich Cap moved to accept the Treasurers report and Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The bills were then reviewed and approved for payment.

Gary Lazar of the State Bank of Faribault brought a signature sheet to get an updated copy of authorized signatures for our C.D.’s at the Bank.

The County Planning Commission meeting on March 5, 2015 to discuss a zoning ordinance amendment for solar energy production in the Agricultural Zone was reviewed.

Marlene Pohl reported that City of Faribault Airport Board has asked Well Township supply a member for the Airport Zoning Board of Adjustment. After some discussion John Purdie who is a pilot was asked if he would be willing to represent the Township on this Board. John accepted and will represent Wells Township.

Marlene Pohl reported that the Rice County Emergency Preparedness Advisory Council(REPAC) has a quarterly meeting coming up on Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.  They are asking Township officials to participate. This meeting is to discuss credentialing first responders to incidents and disaster scenes. No action was taken.

Jim Zahn then reviewed the preperations for the March 10, 2015 Annual Meeting and Township Election. The Public Accuracy test for the AUTOMARK is March 5, 2015. The proposed budget to be presented at the annual meeting was reviewed.

The Township received a list of Forfeited Property which was reviewed at the meeting.

Nancy Johnson Moved to adjourn the meeting and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.
