The minutes of the September 8, 2015 meeting and the September 29, 2015 public hearing were read by Jim Zahn.  Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Marlene Pohl gave the Treasurers report.  Nancy Johnson moved to accept the Treasurers report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

The September bills were reviewed and approved for payment.

Building permits for September were reviewed.

The Berg’s requested the township mow the ditches along 160th street. It was decided to have Dale Kuchinka mow the ditches this fall.

Blacktop condition was discussed on 175th and 177th Street was discussed. Since these roads go to the public access on French Lake it decided to call the DNR about blacktop repair or re[lacement.

David Gross submitted a bill for pothole repair on French Lake Trail.

Jim Zahn was asked to get costs for all repairs done to blacktop on roads for all the subordinate service districts and keep a file for each district.

Larry Churchill and Ted Tuma represented the Roberds Lake Club and asked for permission to put up a sign 4 feet long and 3 feet high on the Town Hall property providing the link to their web site. After discussion it was decided that Larry Churchill would have the sign designed to include the township’s web site and present to the township. The township was willing to pay a portion of the cost and allow the sign. Larry is to get the information to Jim Zahn when the design and costs are complete.

Marlene Pohl reported on the negotiations of the Rural Fire Association with the City of Faribault on the fire contract. The city wants to increase the cost from $84,313.00 in 2015 to $93,108.00 in 2016. The Fire Association gave the city a check for $89,846.00 and will do a contract in December. They will then find out if the city will accept their proposal. The city had also suggested that the fire association split the cost based on property value rather than an even split between the 3 ½ townships. If this were to happen Wells Township would be responsible for 36% of the cost.

Marlene Pohl advised that the woman’s toilet needed repair, the seal in the tank leaked. After discussion it was decided that replacing the old toilet wouldn’t be much more expensive than paying for a service call and repair. Nancy Johnson call Tom Luedke to install a new toilet and remove the old one.

Nancy Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting and Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

Respectfully Submitted
