Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes, January 8, 2018
Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Capp, Nancy Johnson, Brandon Miller serving as Deputy Treasurer, and Colin Johnson taking notes for the Clerk.
Minutes of the December 2017 meeting were read with one correction requested regarding the agreement with the Roberds Lake trail SSD. The Township will contribute $850 per year to a maintenance fund during the 7 year assessment period only with further review at that time. Rich Capp moved to accept the minutes as corrected with Nancy Johnson second. Motion passed.
Brandon Miller read the Treasurer’s report for December 2017. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the report as printed on the attachment. Jeff LaCanne second. Motion passed.
The CD for $38,457.69 is due at United Bank. It was discussed and decided to renew the CD for a 9 month period due to upcoming financial commitments.
The March meeting will be held at 7:00 PM on March 12 and the annual meeting being held on March 13 at 12:00 PM with the Township election following. Polls will be open from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, March 13, 2018.
Jeff LaCanne gave an update on the Acorn Project followed with some discussion. No action is required at this time.
Garfield Trail will be turned over to Shieldsville Township for the next 2 years. Rich Capp reported Shieldsville would like to gravel this section from end to end. It was decide Wells Township would share the cost of the gravel as long as lime rock is not used.
Rich Capp moved to adjourn with Jeff Lacanne second. Motion passed.
