Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes, July 3, 2017

On Monday July 3, 2017 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Flavia Berg and Jim Zahn.

Also present were Lowell Berg, Troy Marquerdt and Rechelle Marquerdt.

Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The minutes for June 5 were read. Rich Cap moved to accept the minutes and Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Flavia Berg gave the treasurers report for June. Jeff LaCanne moved to accept the treasurer’s report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried. A copy is attached.

The Bills were reviewed for payment. Rich Cap moved we pay the bills. Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Rich Cap reviewed the dust coating project which is complete. The township reduced the area dust coated this year.

The intersection of 195th and Douglas is complete.

Troy Marquerdt requested blading and gravel for 198th Court. After discussion it was decided to add class 5 and blade this location.

Possible Annexation of the Mc McDonough property was discussed. At this time there is no formal request so no action was taken.

The invasion of the invasive species Wild Parsnip was discussed. Jeff LaCanne moved we find a method to control Wild Parsnip by the next meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

Air Conditioning for the town hall to help control humidity and mold was discussed. Jeff LaCanne moved that Jim Zahn purchase a thru the wall air conditioner for the town hall. Rich cap seconded the motion and it carried.

The June building Permit report wasn’t available at the time of the meeting.

Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.
