Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes, June 5, 2017

On Monday June 5, 2017 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Nancy Johnson, Flavia Berg and Jim Zahn.

Also present were Ronal Olson, Lowell Berg, Larry Shepherd, Melissa Bachman, Larry Churchill, Kathy Smith, Ron Olson, Marvin Lounsbery, Brad Meehl, Cheryl Meehl, Tony Schema, Julie Schema, Roger Wutschke, Grant Wisdom, Brooke Wiseman, Steve Opdahl, Zevlen Olson and Maddi Ahlness.

Vice chairman Rich Cap opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The minutes for May 1 were read. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Flavia Berg gave the treasurers report for May. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the treasurer’s report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried. A copy is attached.

The Bills were reviewed for payment. Rich Cap moved we pay the bills. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Melissa Bachman requested a driveway permit for her property on French Lake Trail after revue and discussion the permit was approved.

Several residents on Roberds Lake Trail were concerned that they didn’t have any input to the road repairs. After discussion the board advised the group to have a face to face meeting of their subordinate service district to review options and decide on a plan of action to present to the board.

Roger Wutschke asked about the material used to repair the potholes on Elmore Avenue as he and his neighbors liked the material and were considering it for their private road.

The project to repair the intersection at 195th and Douglas was discussed. RAW is ready to start as soon as weather permits.

Tuck pointing and replacement of the exit door in the basement of the town hall was discussed. The project is complete and the work looks good.

The Faribault Sno-Go club requested a permit to run their trail across township right of way. After reviewing the locations Jeff LaCanne moved to give the Sno-Go club a permit. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

A request for a road repair from Ron Phillips was reviewed and Rich Cap advised the repair had been completed in the last week.

Resolution 2017-01 adopting the Minnesota Association of Townships General Records Retention Schedule was reviewed. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the resolution as presented and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Dust control was discussed and the plan is to apply in late June based on weather and vendor availability.

The May building Permits were reviewed at the meeting.

Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.
