Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes, May 1 2017
On Monday May 1, 2017 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Nancy Johnson, Flavia Berg and Jim Zahn.
Also present were Ronald Olson, Lowell Berg, Ron Velzke, Steve Anderson, John Winjum, Colin Johnson and Larry Churchill.
Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The minutes for March, April, April road tour and Board of appeals and adjustment were read. Rich Cap moved to accept the minutes and Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Flavia Berg gave the treasurers report April. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the treasurer’s report and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried. A copy is attached.
The Bills were reviewed for payment. Nancy Johnson moved we pay the bills. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Larry Churchill was concerned with Roberds Lake Trail and after the frost came out some areas will need repair before the road can be chip sealed. Larry was asked to bring quotes from some contractors to the Board.
The Irv Novak ditch problem at 4151 Chappuis Trail was reviewed by Jeff LaCanne. Irv needs a larger culvert under his driveway to handle the water flow.
John Winjum presented a quote for RAW construction for the repair of the intersection of 195th and Douglas Ave. Rich Cap moved that RAW Construction proceed per the quote except for the quantity of gravel which would be applied as needed. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.
The potholes in Elmore Avenue were discussed as drivers are driving on the edge of the ditch to get around them. Jeff LaCanne moved that the township seek a vendor and have the road repaired as quickly as possible. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.
Tuck pointing and replacement of the exit door in the basement of the town hall was discussed. Jeff LaCanne moved we have Lenway tuck point the basement and replace the exit door. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the list and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.
The April building Permits were reviewed at the meeting.
Nancy Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it carried.
