Under Old Business the board reviewed the minutes of the Road Check Meeting. Some of the gravel has already been spread on some of the shorter roads. Jeff LaCanne will contact the owner whose wood fence is 4’ into the road right of way on Fairbanks Avenue. Rich Cap will replace signs that were damaged or broken during the winter season. Finding someone to chip seal Roberds Lake Trail and Dassel Avenue continues to be an issue.

 NEW BUSINESS

Lynn Jorgenson of 17681 West 177th Street spoke of concerns she had with no trespassing signs across the road from her house. She claims they were placed there by her neighbor and the signs are on Township property. She felt it was discrimination to prevent her from using Township property and allowing the neighbors to use it.

A discussion followed about 177th Street being a private road even though land was set aside when Archika Acres was platted to provide a Township road. She was advised that the Township accepted the plat and was willing to take over the road when it was brought up to Township standards. Currently the majority of her neighbors want the road to remain private and aren’t willing to bring it up to Township standards. Mrs. Jorgenson advised the board that she had talked to the County Attorney about the issue and she was informed that at the time of approval of the plat the road right of way became public property and was owned by Wells Township. The board will look into who owns the property to determine what action to take.

Jon Hansen again asked the board about abandoning Becker Avenue. The Board is looking into making this road a minimum maintenance road instead of abandoning.  The issue of abandoning 160th Street came up and the decision was made to look at making that minimum maintenance road al
