Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes September 13, 2021

Rich Cap called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.

Also present was Lowell Berg, Ray Ackerman, Larry & Barb Crabtree, Frank Lobe, Chuck Nauman and Becky Dammert .

August minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Colin Johnson moved to approve the minutes. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed

Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for August. Colin Johnson moved to accept the report and Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.

The bills for the month were reviewed. Colin Johnson moved to approve the bills for payment. Rich Cap seconded the Motion and it passed.

Issues from the Floor:

None

Old Business:

The DNR Grant for 175th and 177th Streets was discussed. Crane Creek has completed the blacktopping and will complete the shouldering the week of September 11.

The Roger Stoick lawsuit was discussed. The judge dismissed the lawsuit.

Skyline Drive repair is at a standstill until the curbing problem can be fixed.

Chappuis Trail was discussed. Repair of the frost boils and grinding should be done late September.

 

New Business:

Becky Dammert complained about semi’s using their Jake brakes in Shieldsville all hours of the day and night during the corn pack. There are 3 entrances to Shieldsville and each is in a different township. She asked the township to support enforcement of vehicle noise laws by installing a sign, passing a resolution stating they will enforce the law and ask the sheriff for support. Colin Johnson moved we buy the sign and pass the resolution. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

 

 

The American Rescue Plan Act was discussed. Jim Zahn has applied for the funds.

 

Colin Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
