Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes November 13, 2017

On Monday November 13, 2017 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall. Members present were Rich Cap, Nancy Johnson, Flavia Berg and Jim Zahn.

Also present were Lowell Berg, Ronald Olson, Dennis Parker, Andrew Kepper, Dustin Dienst, Brandon Miller and Larry Churchill.

Vice Chairman Rich Cap opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The minutes for October, 2017 were read. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes and Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Flavia Berg gave the treasurers report for October 2017. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the treasurer’s report. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the motion carried. A copy is attached.

The Bills were reviewed for payment. Nancy Johnson moved we pay the bills. Rich Cap seconded the motion and the motion carried.

The French Lake Trail traffic issue was again discussed. The people were advised that the township was proceeding with the plan to have a speed study done by MnDOT.

The Roberds Lake Trail-Dassel Ave. SSD was presented with a proposal from the board for the repaving of their road. After much discussion, Nancy Johnson moved to table the matter until December when Jeff LaCanne would be present. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.

Using the Town Hall as a storm shelter was again discussed and it was decided to no longer use the town hall as a shelter as previously decided.

The Rural Fire Association has decided on a new tanker truck at a price of $249,224.00. A request was made for a down payment of $9,494.00 for the chassis from the participating townships. Wells Township’s share of the expense is 33% or $3,133.02.

The October Building permit report was not received before the meeting.

Nancy Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.
