On Monday November 4, 2013, the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Board Members present: Jeff La Canne, Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and James Zahn

Also present were: Harry Chappuis, Flavia Berg, Lowell Berg, John Purdie, Kevin Teich and JamesGare.

Chairman Jeff La Canne opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. with the pledge of allegiance.

The minutes of the October 5, 2013 meeting were read by James Zahn. Nancy Johnson moved to accept the minutes. The motion was seconded by Rich Cap. The motion carried.

The Treasurers report was given by Marlene Pohl. There is a balance of $109,338.72 in the checking account.  Rich Cap moved to accept the treasurers report. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

Old Business

Marlene Pohl reported on the Rice Energy Forum that was held at College city Beverage in Dundas.

Marlene Pohl reported on Board members certification for the local board of appeals and equalization. We have two supervisors certified and will need to get the other supervisor certified at the next session available.

Marlene Pohl reviewed the change in the watershed for ditch #4 and the increase in residents assessed.

 

New  BUSINESS

Issues with the Wells Lake Court Ditch were expressed by residents along Wells Lake Court. The supervisors decided to visit the site to determine the extent of the problem and what action if any they needed to take.

George Voracek and La Donna Bruner requests for waiver of plat were reviewed. Also Roy Winjum’s request for an amendment  to section 517.09 was reviewed. These items are part of the County Board of adjustment meeting on November 6.2013.

The board also reviewed a variance request from Steve and Lisa Petricka for a modification of the required 100’ set back from the road.

A discussion was held on maintenance on roads shared with the city of Faribault. Marlene Pohl offered to set up a meeting with Travis Block to discuss the Township taking back maintenance on all of these roads.

Rich Cap reported issues with dirt piles on the road in Misgen Bay. This was part of the sewer project and was corrected.

Rich Cap moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 P.M. Nancy Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.
