Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes October 12, 2020
Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.
Also present were Lowell Berg and Bill Arendt.
September minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Colin Johnson moved to approve the minutes. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for September 2020. Colin Johnson moved to accept the report as corrected, Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
The bills for the month were reviewed. Rich Cap moved to approve the bills for payment. Jeff LaCanne seconded the Motion and it passed.
Issues from the Floor:
Old Business:
The core samples from Elmore Trail and Elmore Ave. were done with Pat Heselton, Colin Johnson and Bill Arendt and they were in spec. The repairs are not yet completed. Colin will talk to BMI about completing the repairs. $40,000.00 was withheld from payment until the repairs are complete. If the repairs aren’t complete by the end of November Colin will find some else to repair the bad spots and deduct it from what we owe. Colin reminded the board that there is a 1 year warranty bond on the project and we will need to identify any sots that are a problem before the year is up. This needs to be done by August 2021.
The Elmore Trail and Elmore Ave. project loan was discussed. Flavia has everything ready at the bank and now that we finally have the amount we need to borrow the loan can be completed.
New Business:
The yearly maintenance fee for the Elmore SSD was discussed and is $25.00 per PID per year.
There is a bad spot on Canby Avenue was again discussed. 2 belly dumps of crushed concrete will spread on the hill.
Colin Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
