Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes, October 8, 2018

Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Capp, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.

Also present was Lowell Berg, Ron Velzke,  and Jon Winjum.

Minutes of the September 2018 meeting were read and Rich Cap moved to accept the minutes and
Colin Johnson seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for September 2018. Colin Johnson moved to accept the report as printed on the attachment. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.

Colin Johnson moved to approve the bills for payment. Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it carried.

Roberd’s Lake Trail, Dassel Ave. repave was discussed and due to the storm and wet weather the project might be postponed. The weather the next couple of weeks will determine what will be done with this project.

French Lake Trail MN. DOT safety study was discussed and Rich Cap was expecting a report from the State in the near future.

Ron Velzke reported that the Elmore Ave. , Elmore Trail subordinate service district has established a committee to review the road and develop a coarse of action. Ron advised that there were 3 culverts along the road that need to be replaced and he requested that it be done this fall. Rich Cap will review the culverts and determine the course of action.

Clean up after the Sept. 20 storm was discussed. The township picked up over 400 truck loads of trees and brush and the pick up portion of the project is complete. There are a few trees and stumps along Chappuis Trail that need to be removed and the plan is to have strobel remove them.

Rich Cap received a bill for $700.00 to install a pipe under French Lake Trail by the pump house. Jeff LaCanne moved the township pay half now and the other half in a year if the pipe still works. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

Building permits for September were reviewed.

Colin Johnson moved to adjourn and Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
