On Monday September 3, 2013 the Wells Town Board met at the Wells Town Hall.

Board members present: Jeff LaCanne, Nancy Johnson, Rich Cap, Marlene Pohl and James Zahn

Also present were Colin Johnson, Lowell Berg, Fluvial Berg, Ted Tuma, Susan Tuma, Greg Pavek, Leonard Petricka and Jason Petricka.

Chairman Jeff LaCanne opened the meeting with the PLEDGE OF ALLEGANCE

The MINUTES of the August meeting were read by James Zahn Motion to approve by Nancy Johnson   seconded by Rich Cap Motion approved

The TREASURER’S REPORT was given by Marlene Pohl Motion to approve by Nancy Johnson   seconded by Rich Cap Motion approved

Old Business

A section of Garfield Trail was repaired with ground blacktop as a trial. Further use of this material will depend on the success of this trial.

Marlene Pohl reported that she had filled pot holes on French Lake Trail.

Marlene Pohl reported that the culvert on French Lake Trail by Jason Petricka has been replaced and blacktop repair will take place after the fill has settled.

The Malecha Hill ditch on 195th St. W. needs to be cleaned out. This will be done when the weather permits.

Stub in of the new sewer line for the Town Hall was discussed. Nancy Johnson made a motion that the Township pay for a stub in of the new sewer line for the Town Hall. Rich Cap seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Ron Olson 4470 Roberds Lake Trail- wishes to remove his driveway culvert and fill with dirt. The supervisors went to the site and reviewed the issue. Jeff LaCanne moved not to allow the filling of the culvert. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.

Sheriff’s Office Jennifer called about the heavy rain causing flood damage in July. She wants information to apply with the Governor’s office for aid. Marlene Pohl is to review and provide any costs the Township has from this rain.

Colin Mc Adams is concerned about a Hollow Tree on French lake Trail on the edge of the right of way and his property. He wants to split costs with Township. The supervisors agreed to split the cost and directed Marlene Pohl to handle with the Townships Tree service.

CORRESPONDENCE

A variance request by William Krenske to allow a garage addition increasing size to 1,636 sq. ft. from the 1200 sq. ft. limitation was reviewed. The Township has no problem with the request and will support Mr. Krenske at the board of review hearing.

At 8:45 Nancy Johnson moved to adjourn. Rich Cap seconded the motion and it carried.
