Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes September 9,2019

 

Jeff La Canne called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Jeff La Canne, Flavia Berg, Colin Johnson,  Rich Capp and James Zahn. Also present were Lowell Berg, Michael Hagen, Lisa Hagen, Frank Ahlman, Bill LaPorte, Bill Arendt and Ron Velzke.

Minutes of the August 12th meeting were read. Rich Capp moved to accept the minutes, Colin Johnson second the motion and it passed.

Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for August 2019.Colin Johnson moved to accept the report as printed, Rich Capp second. Motion passed.

The bills for the month were reviewed. Jeff La Canne moved to approve the bills for payment. Rich Capp second. Motion passed.

Issues from the Floor:

Bill Arendt advised there was a problem with placing mail boxes on Elmore Ave. and Elmore Path intersection.  The Board will work with him on placement.

Old Business:

The costs for Roberds Lake Trail and Dassel Ave. paving projects were reviewed. The total resident responsibility was $113,445.00. This amount divided by the 34 PID’s was $3,336.62 per parcel. Colin Johnson moved to approve a resolution authorizing the billing of the residents for this project and adding unpaid assessments to their property taxes over a 7 year period with 3% interest. Jeff La Canne seconded the motion and it carried.

The Wells Lake Way and Court request for road repair was reviewed. Jeff La Canne moved to do a temporary repair on this road. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it carried.

 

New Business:

The lack of progress on the culvert replacements on Elmore Ave. and Elmore Trail was reviewed. If RAW is unable to complete the project it was decided to use Timm’s or Dale Enterprises.

Electricity to the emergency Siren at Ung’s Resort is a problem as Ung’s is rewiring. Jeff La Canne will work with the Ung’s on what needs to be done.

There was concern that the blading of roads wasn’t being done timely. Moving to a different contractor was discussed and will be reviewed later.

 

Colin Johnson moved to adjourn, Rich Cap seconded the Motion and it passed.
