Wells Township Board Meeting Minutes May 8, 2023
Jeff LaCanne called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Members present were Jeff LaCanne, Rich Cap, Colin Johnson, Flavia Berg and James Zahn.
Also present were Kathleen Cap, Richard Cap, Jon Winjum and Randy 2Timm.
May minutes were read by Jim Zahn. Rich Cap moved to approve the minutes. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
Flavia Berg read the Treasurer’s report for April. Colin Johnson moved to accept the report and Rich Cap seconded the motion and it passed.
The bills for the month were reviewed. Jeff LaCanne moved to approve the bills for payment. Rich Cap seconded the Motion and it passed.

Old Business:
Action items from the road tour were discussed. Jeff LaCanne moved we use Class 5 gravel from Timm’s Trucking for the projects. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
New Business:
Semi traffic on Becker Trail was discussed. It was decided to put signage restricting use of the road to trucks over 7,000# empty weight.
Daniel Hovland’s Right of Way permit on Chappuis trail was reviewed. Colin Johnson moved to approve the permit with conditions.
Jeff LaCanne seconded the motion and it passed.
Liquor License for Grandma’s Resort and Roberds Lake Resort were reviewed and approved.
The township received rates for snow plowing and grading the township roads from Witte Bros., Timm’s Trucking and R.A.W Construction. After much discussion Jeff LaCanne moved the township use R.A.W. Construction for the next year. Colin Johnson seconded the motion. Jeff LaCanne and Colin Johnson voted in favor of the motion and Rich Cap voted no. The motion passed.
Jeff LaCanne moved to adjourn the meeting. Colin Johnson seconded the motion and it passed.
